Mail Art

Today I received a beautiful mail art from Meari www.meari.blogspot.com She does such neat stitching. The linen is so pretty and soft.I am not sure what count it is but she stitched over 1 thread and the stitches are teeny tiny..Thank-you Meari for the lovely envelope to add to my collection..

Mail Art

Oh How I LOVE mail art..I know you have heard me say that before..But it's true I love it!!! Mail Art is one of my MANY passions..We are going to be starting a new exchange on Monday and I want to invite anyone that reads my blog to come join us. If you have always wanted to try it now is your chance.Don't be afraid some of the most beautiful mail arts I have seen are from girls stitching their first envelope. There is a button on the right side of my blog that says stitchers of mail art just click on it and it will take you to our group..Hope to see you there..

Turtle Needlebook

I fell in love with this needlebook the first time I laid eyes on it..It's by Olde Colonial Designs and was a very enjoyable project even with all the over one stitches.I changed 2 things I didn't add the bird charm to the front and I did the flowers on the back same as the front..I was a little worried about the finishing but it turned out to be a breeze and I am so proud of my accomplishment..

True Virtue Finished

This is such a lovely sampler. Thanks to Joanie for suggesting we stitch this as a sal.In the afternoon of July 4th I put my last stitches in.
Now I am off to go outside and sit in the warm sunshine. Hope you all are having a great weekend. Can someone tell me why my fabric looks so crummy when it is clicked on..What am I doing wrong.

Good to be back

A lot has been going on with me. First my monitor blew up then I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and had to have a complete hysterectomy. My cancer was in the early stages and none was found in my lymph nodes so no chemo. My doctor did a procedure called da Vinci Hysterectomy for early stages of gynecologic cancer.Instead of having a big scar I had 5 tiny openings which healed quicker with less pain and blood loss.If you would like to read more about it here is the site www.daVinciHysterectomy.com My biggest complaint was not being able to lift anything over 5lbs for 7 weeks.Being a lady of leisure got old fast for this girl.I did get a lot of stitching done with no computer and will post a picture later of True Virtue finished.

Button Flowers

I seen some cute button flowers on a blog but can't remember which one it was..I want to say that I am sorry to the person I copied your cute idea from as I am not able to give you the credit for your inspiration..I should know better by now that I WON'T remember so I need to write things down.I thought these were so adorable so now I have my own pretty button flowers to brighten things up..

My lovely Border

I hated to see the border finished in a way.Sitting on the couch stitching it brought me so much joy and happiness..I was in such a peaceful zone as I stitched in my own little world.I will always have good memories when I look at this sampler..
I posted 2 pictures because I couldn't decide which was the better picture..Decisions,decisions I always have a tough time making them no matter how small they are.
I may not get a lot stitched for my next monthly update. The weather here has been so nice so we spend a lot of time outside. My pear tree and apple trees are in bloom and they all smell so good..We have several birdhouses and the birds are getting their houses ready for their babies..Some of my spring flowers are in bloom and I go out every day several times a day to look at them..I LOVE SPRING!! It is my favorite time of the year.I am wishing you all a great day and month and I hope you have some pretty flowers to make you smile too.

True Virtue Update

Sorry for the hoops marks..Just to tired to get the iron out.

This sampler is such a joy to stitch.I love the rice stitches in the border. It is so relaxing.I don't know why I ever laid this sampler down.

Thank-you Sandra samplerloversblog.blogspot.com for your help with the grape color in the border.

Well I am off to take a small nap then I will be ready for some more stitching.

Oh How I Love Mail Art

The person I was stitching for received her envelope today, so I can share what I stitched for her.Our theme was Needlework. It was funny the Prairie Schooler I stitched on the front was the same design Meari stitched on her envelope. It was another fun exchange and all the girls followed through on their commitments..

I bet you are wondering about the weekly updates I was going to show every Monday on True Virtue.Well the truth is I have not been stitching on it much, so there really isn't much to show.Hopefully I will have an update soon.I know tomorrow I am going to be outside.Temperature is supposed to be in the low 60's and I will be hanging sheets and blankets on the line and enjoying some of that warm sun.
